Year Four Blog Week Beginning 15th July 2019
As we are coming to the end of term, Monday 15th and Tuesday 16th will be our last P.E lessons so please remember your P.E kits.
We will be blocking our Science and D&T lessons next week to complete our electricity and toy design projects. If you have any toys which use electrical circuits , for example the board game Operation which you would not mind the children playing with as part of this topic please can you send them in in named boxes on Monday and Tuesday.
In addition, we will be completing our Ancient Egyptian topic. The children very much enjoyed mummifying a tomato this week (photos to follow)
Our dress up as an Ancient Egyptian day will be held on Monday 22nd of July. Please do not worry about buying your child a fancy dress outfit. Every child has made a beautiful Egyptian mask which they can wear with their own clothes if you would prefer.
We will also be having our End of Year Party on this day. Please can your child bring a small contribution to share on this day. This will be shared between the two classes. To ensure we have a selection please can Millennium bring something sweet and Southwark class something savoury. We are a nut free school. As we have some children with food allergies in the classes, please could homemade food be labelled with the ingredients. Thank you.
In Southwark, Merit cards this week went to Chaimae, Armaan and Daisy. Daisy was also our final Reader of the week.
James. Aryan, Keona and Sofia all received merit cards from Millennium class. Well done!

[dropshadowbox align="none" effect="lifted-both" width="auto" height="" background_color="#ffffff" border_width="20" border_color="#3847fa" ]Dear Parents, Carers
As we approach the end of term, there will be transition events for you and your children over the next few days to prepare for their transition to Year 1 in September. Please note that your child's Year 1 class teachers have not been assigned yet. However the children and you will have an opportunity to meet both current Year 1 teachers in due course to find out what to expect in Year 1. You will be contacted in due course about dates for these.
Also, please note that with only two and a half weeks to go until the end of your child’s year in Reception, we will not be issuing any further reading books this week. Instead, reading books and yellow diaries will be collected on group reading days. Please also check if you have any other outstanding reading books at home.
We will continue to check word lists until the end of next week (last day Fri 19th July). If your child has not completed all 24 lists, they will continue with these into Year 1. Thank you for your overwhelming support with practising with your children to achieve their animal word certificates this year. It has been wonderful to see the positive impact it has had on their progress with reading.
Kind Regards,
Miss Pillay [/dropshadowbox]
