It’s World Autism Awareness Week from 29th March – 4th April 2021

Did you know that 1 in 100 people are on the autism spectrum and there are around 700,000 autistic adults and children in the UK?

Make this week count by finding out as much as you can about Autism and what you can do to support those around you who might be on the autism spectrum or those who might be a family member of someone on the spectrum. Be Autism Aware by following the links below to find out more:

Phonics : Phonics is taught in small group sessions

UW: To discuss the significance of Easter.

Autism Awareness week: We will explore a special episode of Daisy & Ollie, starring Theo who is a young boy who is just like the children in many ways. He likes to do the same things they like
to do. But there are some ways in which he is different, just as we are all different, which means he needs understanding and support. We will discuss how we are all the same in some ways and different in others. We will also talk about some of the ways in which we can support and help others who may be different.

HOLIDAY HOMEWORK: To practise key word lists on Google Classroom. Start from List 1 and progress through the lists at the pace at which your child learns each list. Please be patient with your child as they learn the tricky(red) words. Use the guidance suggested in the folder in this section titled ‘How to help your child learn the tricky words

When your child has learnt all the words on each list, please post a video of your child reading their word list on Google Classroom in the corresponding Word list folder. For each word list they learn to read, your child will receive a certificate at school.

There is no need to rush through all of the lists at one go. It is more important that your child learns to read and recognise the words in the different contexts such as in the books they read.[/dropshadowbox]
