ARTS WEEK 2022 – Frida Kahlo
LITERACY:Focus Book: Frida Kahlo and her Animalitos by Monica Brown
MATHS: This week we will be reviewing aspects related to Pattern in Number:
- understanding of equivalence
- distribute collections of objects into equal and unequal groups
- sort models into those that contain odd and those that contain even numbers o
UW: To use artforms to demonstrate an understanding of different religious festivals explored and discussed this year. The children will create sculptures to demonstrate what they have learnt.
EAD: To explore the work of the Mexican artist Frida Kahlo and create a self portrait in the style of Kahlo. The children will also be immersed in music activities related to this theme during the week
PE: reception Sports Day on Thursday 7th July from 10.30 – 11.30. The Friday PE lesson will focus on creative movement and dance related to Mexican culture in celebration of Arts week.
