Welcome to the new academic year. We would like to welcome you and your child to Year 3.

The year 3 team consists of:

In Maths this week, we will add and subtract numbers up to three digits. We will explain our reasoning when solving problems.

In English, we will edit our reports and add additional facts to our reports about volcanoes.

In Science, we will identify the features of different rocks.

In Topic, we will investigate what to do if there is an earthquake.

Please check that your child has their PE kit so that they can participate effectively in the lesson.

Encourage your child to read every day and to complete a book review.

The children have passwords for Mathletics and Teach your monster to read, if they are not able to access their online work, please let us know.

Week beginning 8th January 2018.

The children settled in well this year and have written their New Year resolutions.

In Maths this week, we write the value of each digit using place value, write numbers in figures and words as well dividing and multiplying by 100 and 1000.

In English, we will use the facts that we have learned to plan a non-chronological report about volcanoes.

In Science, we will learn how to group rocks according to their appearance and qualities.

Our topic this term is Earthquakes and Volcanoes.

In PE, we will cover Gymnastics and Pilates.

 

On 9th January at 9.10 am our class will present our assembly to the school and you are invited to our performance in the school hall.
