Welcome to the new academic year. We would like to welcome you and your child to Year 3.

Week Beginning 5th July 2021

This week our learning will be as follows;

  • In mathematics we will be finding fractions of quantities.
  • In English we will continue our work based on Lob by Linda Newbury. We will look at fronted adverbials, diary writing, story mapping and persuasive writing.
  • In science we will learn about the heart.
  • In geography we will begin a new topic about the Lake District.
  • In RE we will work on our entries to the Spirited Arts competition.  We are focussing on the themes of diversity and inclusion.

Well done to everyone who took part in Spanish Day. Everyone looked amazing and we were really impressed by the games everyone brought in.

 

 

Week Beginning 28th June

Children may come to school wearing either Spanish themed clothes or regular clothes in Spanish colours. There will be Spanish themed activities throughout the day including a story workshop. Children do not need their PE kit on Tuesday. [/dropshadowbox]

This week our learning will be as follows;

  • In mathematics we will learn about fractions;
  • In English we will continue our work around Lob by Linda Newbury.
  • In science we will learn about the organs of the human body.
  • In history we will learn about why the Romans left Britain.
  • In RE we will plan entries to the Spirited Arts competition. We will think about  the things which unite us.

Thank you to everyone who took part in Roman Day and to  parents For their effort in putting costumes together. The children did some great learning.
