Welcome to the new academic year. We would like to welcome you and your child to Year 3.

Most children will continue to learn remotely for at least the next fortnight. In English we will be beginning a unit of work based on Escape from Pompeii by Christina Balit. This will support our work in history and geography. In mathematics we will learn about money. In science we will begin a unit of work on famous scientists beginning with a lesson on Thomas Edison. In RE we continue with our challenge unit, how should we care for our world? and will learn about the Hindu creation story. A full timetable for the week is below. [/dropshadowbox]
There will continue to be live lessons each day at 10:45 and a live story reading at 2:30 on Friday we look forward to seeing all children at those sessions.
Congratulations to Magnus, Japdeep, Nicole, Mason, Tyanna, Yeabsira, Elizabeth and Lana who were awarded merit cards at our assembly on 11th February. Miss Handley will be leading another merit assembly at 9:15 on Friday.

In English we will explore Mouse, Bird, Snake, Wolf by David Almond and create graphic novels based on the book. Our full learning for the week is set out in the attached timetable and tasks and recorded lessons will be posted on Google Classroom. There will be live lesson’s each day at 10:45. These will be as follows;
- Monday – English
- Tuesday – Mathematics
- Wednesday – Music
- Thursday – English
There will also be a live reading session at 2:30 on Wednesday and a live assembly at 9:15 on Thursday.
Friday is an inset day so has not been included on this week’s timetable. Next week will be the half term break.
