Welcome to the new academic year. We would like to welcome you and your child to Year 3.
The year 3 team consists of:

The children have settled in well after the half term break. Monday is an inset day so we will be back in class as follows;
- In mathematics the children will be working on multiplication and division by 3 and 4 or 2 and 5.
- In English we will be reading and discussing Into the Forest by Anthony Browne. We will write a class poem and individual e-mails based on the book.
- In geography we will learn about the physical features of Europe.
- In RE we will write storyboards based on the story of Rama and Sita.
- In PE we will be developing our skills in basketball on Tuesday and in skipping on Thursday. Children should come to school in PE kit on those days.

Children should also read regularly at home and learn their allocated times table. The school subscribes to Mathletics, Times Table Rockstars and Reading Planet and children should access activities on those websites using the log-in details in their homework diaries.[/dropshadowbox]
Welcome back to a new half term. This week our learning will be as follows;
- In mathematics we will develop our multiplication skills using grouping and arrays,and our division skills using sharing and grouping.
- In English we will be exploring a new text, Into the Forest by Anthony Browne.
- In topic time we will learn about Rosa Parks and her role in American civil rights.
- In science we will introduce a new topic on light and dark.
- In RE we will learn about the Hindu story of Rama and Sita.
- In PE we will learn develop our skills in basketball each Tuesday and skipping each Thursday. Children should come to school in PE kit on those days.
