Welcome to the new academic year. We would like to welcome you and your child to Year 3.

Week Beginning 26th November

This week:

  • In Maths we will continue our unit on fractions, we will be counting in tenths and starting to find fractions of amounts.
  • In English we will plan and write the beginning part of Aladding and the Enchanted Lamp.
  • In Science we will be doing an experiment on shadows and looking at whether different materials are opaque, translucent or transparent.
  • In History we will write a fact sheet on a Bronze Age civilisation based on the research we conducted last week.

This week:

  • In Maths we will be multiplying and dividing by 8, and then moving on to a new unit on fractions.
  • In English we will finish off our film reviews, and then moving on to a new unit based on a fairy-tale:

Aladdin and the Enchanted Lamp by Philip Pullman.

  • In History we will be comparing 3 different Bronze Age civilisations.
  • In Science we will investigate reflection by taking part in a carousel of different activities.
