We hope you and the children are well and are keeping safe and busy during this unprecedented time.
We will continue to post a few new suggestions twice a week, every Monday and Wednesday, for as long as is required. During this time with the children, we would advise keeping to a schedule or routine that best suits everyone in your family. Please bear in mind that there are no expectations for your child to follow full school routines whilst at home. Simply adjusting their usual weekend routines to include a few short sessions of learning time will help to keep them on track with learning. It is also important to include time away from screens, so please do build in activity breaks. We also recommend following published guidance when planning walks or other activities outside the home. (Scroll down to find some suggestions for non -screen activities to do at home).
Keep safe and keep learning.
Kind Regards,
Reception Team

Everyone should, by now, have received access details to Mathletics and Ebooks to keep up with reading and maths online. Please check your email.

PHONICS
From Monday 23rd March there will be daily Phonics lessons provided by Ruth Miskin Training via this link: Daily Phonics lessons by Ruth Miskin Training
The lessons are delivered at set times each day (see below)so you may build this into your daily family schedule. Reception children may follow Set 1 and Set 2 lessons
SET 2 sounds: Please note that your child will have learnt an alternate spelling of some of the Speed sounds. Please explain that what they are seeing is a different way to spell the same sound or as we would say in a sing song voice " same sound, different spelling"
We have learnt the following alternate graphemes first instead of the one being shown in the video:
/ai/ snail in the rain instead of /ay/ may I play
/oa/ goat in a boat instead of /ow/ blow the snow
/ur/ nurse with a purse instead of /ir/ whirl and twirl
/ow/ brown cow instead of /ou/ shout it out
/oi/ spoil the boy instead of /oy/ toy for a boy
