On Monday the children will go for a nature detective walk in Duppas Hill, whilst there they will observe signs of Autumn. The children will use their senses, thinking about what they see, hear, touch, taste and smell.
On Tuesday the children will begin to understand the structure of a cinquain poem.
On Thursday the children will be thinking about powerful and precise words to describe Autumn.
Children will start with a sentence – red leaves falling and they will be encouraged to up level it.
Red – is there a better hue that would represent the colour?
Falling – how do leaves fall? They twirl, sprinkle, spiral …
Consider using surprising word combinations e.g. leaves dancing, winds shrieking/whispering
Maths We will continue with the addition and subtraction block.

Children will be visiting The Queen’s Garden in Croydon, where they will sketch the scenery using their knowledge of line and tone. The children will travel to The Queen’s Garden on Thursday 7th November 2019.
