Millennium

Year 4 Week Commencing 7th June

May 28, 2021

Hello!

Thank you all once again for a fabulous start to the Summer Term! I hope that you have had a fabulous half term break and that this final half term in Year 4 will be even more successful!

This week is Sports Week so we will be focusing on sports and healthy living.

Here’s what we will be learning:

Maths- We will be practising analogue and 24 hour time and working on time problems including elapsed time. We have asked children to practise telling the time over half term to be ready for this!

English- We will be finishing our narrative writing about the Ice Palace and then will be beginning a new book (not to be immediately revealed!) which encompasses the genres of fairy tales and fractured fairy tales (new spins on traditional fairy tale stories). Our class read will also be linked and if you would like to read along, it is Rumaysa by Radiya Hafiza

PE- We will be having a PE workshop with Miss May as part of Sports Week and will be continuing to work on our tennis skills in lessons.

RHE- We will be thinking about keeping healthy and body confidence

As always, feel free to contact us with any questions.

Year 4 News Week Commencing 24th May

May 21, 2021

Hello!

Thank you as always for all your help and support.

This week’s learning in Year 4:

Maths: We are continuing our revision of key skills by exploring the commutative laws of multiplication. We will then be spending a few days revising periods of time (days, weeks months, hours and minutes) in preparation for moving onto analogue and digital 24 hour time after the half term break.

English: We are continuing to read Ice Palace by Robert Swindells and have finally reached Starjik’s lair! We will be sketching our visualisations of Starjik, completing our story maps and then creating our own retelling of the end of the story both orally and written.

DT: We will be exploring the sustainability of reusable bags and designing our own bags for life

PE: We will be continuing to develop our tennis skills.

ICT: We are continuing to use Isle of Tune to compose a piece of music for a Pharaoh’s funeral.

Homework is a continuing project exploring our History topic, the Ancient Egyptians. Pick one task each week to complete and post your results on Google Classroom.

Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns!
