Thanks to your help and perseverance, children have grown and developed in many ways.

We are incredibly proud of all of them, their hard work , resilience and success. We will continue posting on Class Dojo until Tuesday 21st July. There will be no further post from Wednesday 22nd July.

We wish you and your families a well earned Summer break.

We wish all our lovely children Good luck for Year 2.

We look forward to seeing everyone in September.

Keep safe and take care!

Message from the Year 2 teachers.

Dear Children

We are so excited to be your teachers in Year 2. We look forward to meeting you and getting to know you. We have a lot of fun learning planned for you, when you join us in Westminister Bridge Class and Hungerford Bridge Class in September.

Take care and see you soon.

Best wishes, from

The Year 2 Team

Miss Brown, Miss Agyemang, Ms Jones and Mrs Patel

Here’s two challenges for you to do over the summer holiday:

Can you do some research about the name of your Year 2 class. Can you make a poster about the bridge your new class is named after?

• Can you join in with the Croydon Library Summer Reading Challenge? How many books will you read this summer holiday? Here are some links to look at:

Science:

We are learning about the Summer season. – Summer. Science is linked to English this week. How do we know it is Summer? What months are Summer months? What is the weather like? What plants, flowering trees do we see? What clothes do we wear? How do we keep ourselves busy – what leisure activities do we do ( go to the beach, play in the garden, maybe usually we could be going on a holiday – unfortunately not this year)? What do you notice about the length of the day?

Activities
Activity 1: Can you make a Summer poster with facts and pictures? – weather, plants, animals, clothes, safety in the Summer sun, fun activities to do, length of the day.
Activity 2 – what can you see when you go for a nature walk in Summer? :
Sheet: Summer nature walk
Activity 3: Can you design a poster- ‘How to stay safe in the sun’.
