Our topic for this term is ‘Puppet on a String’ and is based on history. It focuses on changes within living memory. Children will begin to understand and use words and phrases relating to the passing of time. We will be learning about toys and household objects in the past and compare it to the same in modern times.

History
We start the topic by first discussing changes. Look at a picture of you as a baby. Now look at yourself in the mirror. What changes have taken place? Some changes you can see – your appearance and what you can do – and some changes are within you – your ideas, thoughts…
Activity : Can you create a poster of you as a baby and you now. Describe the changes…

Reading
Please continue reading at home and do post your videos on Class Dojo.
Here are three different texts – Our focus this week is all about chocolate called ‘Chocolicious’.
Please read and answer questions using the information from the text.
The first one is easy and the second and third one is a little challenging. Please answer questions orally by referring to the text.
Click on the link below to view the text. Why not post your work to class dojo for the teachers to check?
Please continue reading by using Oxford owls – you can find the bookband your child was reading and find a book.

Maths
We are learning about division and there are two ways to do it –
Grouping (making groups of a number) OR
Sharing ( sharing a total between groups).
Key Vocabulary
Please Note : Use pasta or counters to do practical grouping before doing the challenge sheets. Play a game.
E.g 6 – How many groups of 1 / how many groups of 2 / how many groups of 3 / how many groups of 6
Today we are learning about grouping.
We have a total and then we have to make groups of 2 or 3 or 5 or whichever number is required.
Watch the link below.
