Recommended reading books for Year 3:

Expertly selected books for 7 and 8 year old children (lovereading4kids.co.uk)
Reading
Children are asked to read at home on a daily basis and their book should be brought to school each day. It is helpful if parents can comment regularly in their child’s Reading Record, particularly when their child has finished their book. Children are responsible for changing and selecting their own books in the morning.
Homework
Children will be given homework each Friday to be handed in by the following Tuesday. Children are also asked to learn spellings and times tables at home. They are responsible for recording their homework in their homework diary.
Other
Children are asked to bring to school a water bottle. They should have a waterproof coat when it is raining or the forecast is for rain.
This week most children will continue to learn from home. Remote learning will be posted on Google Classroom each day based on the following timetable;
Timetable Week Beginning 25th January
If you have any difficulty accessing the learning for your child, then please contact us on year3@howard.croydon.sch.uk.
This week our learning will be as follows;
- In mathematics we will learn column addition and subtraction.
- In English we will do some tasks connected with Varjak Paw by S F Said.
- In science we will learn how sedimentary rock is formed.
- In geography we will learn how volcanoes are formed.
- In RE we will learn about How Muslim’s care for our world.
All learning will be posted on Google Classroom. There will be alive lesson each day at 10:45. For safeguarding reasons the link to the live lesson is published five minutes before the lesson on Google Classroom (both in the live stream and in the assignment folder on classwork.) This ensures that teachers are present when children enter the classroom.
