Keep practising your letter sounds.

  • Watch this short video to help your child with sound pronunciation
  • Once you know the correct pronunciation, try turning the sound off and saying each sound
  • Say a sound to your child, ask them to write the grapheme (corresponding letter)

Tricky words

Tricky words are those words which may not be decodable yet as children learn the complex alphabetic codes

  • Listen to video, sing along
  • Turn off the sound and try to read  the words
  • Say the word to your child, ask them to write it from memory, look at video to check the spelling
