- In your child’s homework diary, they will have a green stamp at the end of each day to show they are following our school’s ‘Good to be Green’ behaviour policy. This week our learning will be as follows;
- In mathematics we will continue our work on multiplying by six and investigating how knowing the three times table helps us to learn our six times table.
- In English we will continue our work around The Ice Palace. We will write in role as one of the characters from the story.
- In Science we will learn to identify different teeth.
- Our blocked foundation subject is Design and Techonology (DT). We will be investigating packaging and would be grateful if children could bring in small boxes or packets.
- PE is on Wednesday in both classes. Southwark Class have swimming on Tuesday and Millennium Class have PE on Friday.
We are looking forward to our visit to Croydon Minster on Thursday to attend a Christmas Concert. Please return permission slips and make payment by Parent Pay if you have not already done so.
This week our learning will be as follows;
- In mathematics we will begin a new unit of work on multiplication and division. This week we will revise our skills in multiplying by 3 and learn to multiply and divide by 6.
- In English we will continue our work based on the Ice Palace by Robert Swindells.
- In science we will identify the organs of the human body involved in digestion.
- Our blocked foundation subject this week will be history. We will conclude the work which we began last half term, on Ancient Greece.
Both year 4 classes will do PE on Wednesday and Millennium Class will also have PE on Friday. Children should come to school in PE kit on those days. Southwark Class will swim on Tuesday.
Last week we sent home some envelopes containing information about the Cues-Ed programme which we will be taking part in as part of our work in Relationship and Health Education. All children will take part in the programme but we need parents permission for the children’s data to be anonymously used in the study. Further information was in the envelope with a permission form. We would be grateful if all parents could write their child’s name on the envelope and return the form to the school within the envelope. It would be really helpful if parents could reply, whether or not they give consent.
