Week beginning 11th March 2019
Well done to the whole of Year 5 – and their parents – for all those lovely costumes and “book in a box” activities for World Book Day! We were completely blown away!

Maths – We shall be continuing our unit of fractions. This week, our learning objectives are:
I can find fractions of an amounts
I can convert between fractions and decimals.
I can read, write and order decimals.
English – We shall be continuing our new topic, Travel Brochures. We will be researching, planning and writing our own guide to Whitby.
Science – We shall be looking at comparing life cycles.
Computing – We shall be creating a quiz this week, on Scratch!
Reading – We shall be continuing our new class novel, Room 13 by Robert Swindells. Thanks to the Friends of Howard for our lovely class sets of books so that we can all read along!
PE – We have swimming on Tuesdays and our PE session on Thursdays.
French – We shall be continuing to look at the weather.
Art – We shall be drawing images from photographs, based on areas around Whitby.
Geography – We shall be looking at the location of Whitby, in relation to the UK.
Music lessons will be taught by our Soundstart teacher, Mr Regan.
