Our key learning objectives this week will be:

Maths-We will be consolidating our understanding of multiplication and division with a big focus on understanding inverse relationships and problem solving.

Reading- We are reading The Witches by Roald Dahl.

Writing- We will be reading the book Oliver’s Vegetables and writing our own narratives based on the story

 

 

Science- Ourselves- how to be healthy and fit.

Topic- Hooray! We’re going on Holiday.

PE- On Mondays: dance with Mrs Amin

On Thursdays: introducing playground games e.g. skipping, rounders

RE-Our RE topic this term is Hinduism.

DON’T FORGET:

This week is a Healthy Living Week- lots of our learning will be based around this.

We will be:

  • Taking part in 10 minute miles every day this week and seeing if we can improve the distances we run.
  • Making a healthy breakfast
  • Learning new playground games using equipment such as bean bags and foam javelins.
  • Taking part in a skipathon on Friday (16th) – Don’t forget to get your sponsorships ready. All the proceeds will go towards buying new playground equipment.

Maths objectives that you could help with at home:

  • Keep going with your times tables and division facts for 2, 5 and 10x tables J
  • Understanding x and ÷ fact families e.g.

2×5=10, 5×2=10, 10÷5=2, 10÷2=5

  • Practice number bonds to 100 e.g. 35+__, 72+__, __+11 using your knowledge of number bonds to 10

SPaG objectives that you could help with at home:

  • Spelling words with –el, -le, -il and –al endings e.g. camel, table, pencil, oval
  • Spelling words ending in –tion e.g. station, mention
  • Understanding the rule of dropping the /y/ and adding –ies when pluralising e.g. baby- babies, city- cities
  • Using suffixes at the ends of words e.g. happily, engagement, plentiful and talking about the spelling rules
  • Adding adverbs to verbs e.g. walked slowly, smiled happily
  • Using different sentence types in writing; most importantly questions & exclamations
