It has been a wonderful first week back to school. The children have really enjoyed being back and it was pleasing to see that they settled quite well, back into their usual school routines.

Thank you for ensuring your child is dressed in full school uniform. Please remember to write your child’s name on all their belongings. This really helps staff to locate lost items.

Wishing you a lovely second week back to school.

Kind regards,

The Reception Team

Maths: To practise skills for counting using a range of manipulatives

Phonics : Phonics is taught in small group sessions

PSED & RHE: To talk about personal safety. This week the children will learn the Pantasaurus song, which is part of the NSPCC ‘s Talk PANTS campaign,  developed to help prevent abuse. For more information for parents, please see guidance for parents:Talk PANTS Campaign Guide for Parents

HOMEWORK:

  • On Google Classroom (In the Classwork section in the Homework Folder)
  • Listen to the story video of The Three Billy Goats and answer the questions.
  • This homework is due by Wednesday

KEY WORDS: Animal Word Lists:

All children must learn the animal word lists starting from List 1. Once your child has learnt all the words on each list, we ask that you post a video of your child reading their word list on Google Classroom in the corresponding Word list folder.

For each word list they learn to read, your child will receive a certificate. Please progress through the word lists at the pace at which your child learns the words. There is no need to rush through all of the lists at one go. It is more important that your child learns to read and recognise the words in the books that they read.

GOOGLE CLASSROOM: If your child is not in school, they must complete the Remote Learning Tasks set on Google Classroom .
