Thank you for coming to our introductory meeting last week. It was wonderful to see so many of you there.
Please don’t forget to come to our Phonics workshop for parents on Wednesday 3rd October. You can choose to attend either of the two sessions: 9.00-10.30 or 2.00-3.30. This workshop will focus on how your child will learn to read and form letters and how you can support your child with reading at home.
Please help your child settle into their school routine by being prompt in the morning and at collection time. Please be reminded that school starts at 8.50am and finishes at 3.30pm.
Also, we would appreciate if you could please ensure that your child brings a named bottle of water (plain water only) into school every day.
Kind regards,
Miss Pillay, Mrs Crooks, Miss Thompson and Mrs Carden[/dropshadowbox]

AUTUMN TERM TOPIC: All about me
LITERACY:
Book Focus: Harry and the Dinosaurs go to school by Ian Whybrow
The children will enjoy a shared reading of this wonderfully illustrated book about the first day of school for a little boy called Harry. They will have opportunities to talk about their own feelings and experiences of their first days at school, making connections between the main character (Harry) and themselves.
DOUGH DISCO
In addition to a range of stimulating activities and challenges, this week the children will begin their first daily dough disco sessions. These are short, fun sessions aimed at developing your child’s motor skills in readiness for writing. [/dropshadowbox]
