Week beginning 20th November 2017

Thank you to all of the parents/ grandparents that helped on our trips last week! We also hope that you enjoyed the Harvest performances. With that in mind, we are going to be starting rehersals for our Christmas performance this week. These will take place during PE times on Monday and Wednesdays. We will send more information to you at a later date.

Writing

We will be using the two films we went to see last week to help us explore the features of a film review. We will be looking at how to write a synopsis and eventually write our own film review about our favourite film.

Phonics/ SPaG

We are going to begin to recap aspects of phase 6 phonics. This includes present and past tense, suffixes and spelling longer words.

Maths

We are still working on addition and subtraction. We will be consolidating counting adding ones and tens. We are hoping to move onto adding two digit and one digit numbers.

Helpful information

Our new topic this half term is People Of The Past. There are many cross-curricular links in this topic.

PSHE

We will be starting our new PSHE scheme: Zippy’s Friends. Our first module is ‘communication’.

Key information

Reading books are changed every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. We expect your child to read to you every evening and for this to be recorded in their reading record.
