Thank you very much for your overwhelming response to our request for baked treats. Thanks to your generosity we were able to raise £165.40 at our first Reception Fun Friday event. Huge thanks to our parent volunteers for organising and manning the stall on Friday. We could not have done it without your enthusiasm and hard work.

Much appreciated

AUTUMN TERM TOPIC: Light and Dark

LITERACY:

Book Focus: Aliens love underpants by Claire Freedman and Ben Cort

The children will love this charming and funny story about alien creatures from another planet who are fascinated by human underpants! This delightful story will stimulate their imagination and create a stimulus for our learning this week.

Phonics: Our sounds for this week are: /h/, /b/, /f/ff/, /l/ll/ and /s/ss/

This week the children will learn 3 more digraphs (2 letters which combine to represent one sound) Please keep the daily practice sheet at home and practise saying and writing the sounds until your child can confidently recognise and write each of them

MATHS:

• This week we will continue to revise all numbers within the range 0-20, counting reliably using concrete objects and pictorials. This week our revision will focus on numeral recognition and correct formation and orientation of numerals to 20.

• We will also focus on recognising and creating patterns that are the same and different (using arrangements of objects)
