It’s Pouring!” Please check your child’s homework book for this term’s curriculum overview. It is linked to Geography and children will explore and identify weather patterns in UK as well as learn about location of hot and cold countries in relation to the Equator and North and South Poles[/dropshadowbox]
English
Children will be looking at a painting called ‘The girl in the rain’ and use this painting to create their own story. This week they will predict what is happening in the painting, generate some questions, describe the character- ‘The girl’ , her thoughts and feelings and plan a story map.
Maths
We will revisit doubling and halving numbers. Children will explore fractions of shapes and quantities – halves and quarters.

Science
Children will continue their learning about classifying animals into herbivores, carnivores and omnivores – Mammals, reptiles, amphibians, birds, fish, insects.
Geography
Children will explore weather patterns by looking at the climate patterns in UK and use atlas to identify the countries in UK.
Art
We will be exploring patterns and creating patterns for umbrellas. Children will explore bubble painting and shades of grey.
P.E
Children will continue their learning by making different body shapes like tuck, pike, straddle, dish, arch etc… and also begin to do different rolls like a log roll, egg role and a teddy roll. Then we will be exploring dance and movement.
PSHE
We are learning about how to keep our bodies safe and how to get help if they feel vulnerable. We use the NSPCC website to learn about PANTS – the underwear rule.
It stands for P – Privates are Private, A -Always remember your body belongs to you, N- No means no, T- Talk about secrets that upset you, S – Speak up, someone can help.
