At Howard Primary School we have adopted The Power of Reading scheme for literacy. We will focus our literacy work on a core text. The text we are working on is currently a secret and slowly we will reveal the title and the book to the children.
This week we will be looking at seaside/beach. Children will learn to represent imaginatively what they listen to. Then they draw a picture of it and learn to annotate their artwork with detail & description of the weather, the beach, the mood of the sea. After that, they will look at other children’s work and comment on similarities and differences. Finally, they will be looking at the real illustration & compare it with children’s interpretations.[/dropshadowbox]
