Week beginning 2nd March 2020 – World Book Day week

Well done for all your hard work in the first week back. Now, in such wonderful weather, one has no chance but to enjoy doing their homework. Should the wind have blown it away, here is a copy:

Please note some important messages:

  • Swimming starts on Tuesday,
  • PE days are now Monday and Thursday,
  • World Book Day will be celebrated on Thursday,

    • Have fun creating your characters for World Book Day

  • Parents Evenings are scheduled for the 12th and 17th March,

  • We will secure our knowledge of decimals by first identifying their place-value, then linking them to fractions, converting between them and then venturing into the thousandths before re-activating our rounding skills to round decimals up to two decimal places.

  • After finishing our travel brochure of Whitby, we will start our new, exciting topic of Greek Myths.
  • There, we will read, act out and orally retell Pandora’s Box before exploring the key characters through interviews and developing a character profile.

  • We will reactivate our knowledge of Life-Cycles particularly the different stages of development to contrast them between animals and plants.

  • Art: We will continue exploring and developing Greek patterns and link them to pottery.

  • Spanish: I can name fruits in Spanish.
  • Geography will pause for some time and History will return.
    • History: I can describe key aspects of life in Ancient Greece – Greek God’s and their relevance for everyday life (Mt. Olympus has got talent).
  • ICT: I can apply my knowledge of programming to create a simple Scratch programme.
