Week Beginning 3rd January 2022

We are looking forward to welcoming children back to school on Wednesday 5th January. We hope that everyone has had a great Christmas and wish everyone a Happy New Year.

This week our learning will be as follows;

  • In mathematics we will be learning to count in sevens, construct the seven times table and use the seven times table facts to solve problems.
  • In English we will begin a new unit of work based on The Great Kapok Tree, by Lynne Cherry.
  • In science we will complete our work on teeth and digestion by carrying out an investigation to find the best toothpaste.
  • In relationship and health education we will follow the NSPCCs PANTS programme. Further information can be found by following the link below.
  • Our blocked foundation subject this week is music. We will look at Music around the world and focus on pitch and the pentatonic scale.

PE will be on Wednesday and Thursday in Southwark Class and Wednesday and Friday in Millennium Class, Children should wear PE kit on those days. This should be jogger bottoms, trainers, and the school PE top which should be worn with the school jumper.

We expect to be able to take the children swimming again this term. Further details and dates for each class will be provided when they are available.
