SPRING TERM 2 TOPIC: Traditional Tales

LITERACY:

Book Focus: Three Billy Goats Gruff

The children will read and recall the main events of this entertaining traditional tale. We will explore descriptive language to write character descriptions .

MATHS: This week we will explore big picture stories about combining groups of objects. The children will learn to represent their mathematical understanding using a range of manipulatives and models eg part, part whole model, tens frame

My own Gingerbread story

We have been using our imagination to create a new adventure for the Gingerbread man. What adventure do you think he could he have next if he escaped from the fox? Where would he go? What would he do? Who would he meet? Draw a picture and write a few sentences about Gingerbread man’s next adventure.

READING BOOKS: Please send in reading books and reading diaries on group days. Please note that if a book is lost, we kindly ask that you please replace the book with a similar book as our stock of books are dwindling [/dropshadowbox]

Thursday 12th and Tuesday 17th March: Parent evenings 4.00pm to 7.00pm

23rd - 25th March: Balance bike training for Reception children. Check book bags for consent forms which will be sent out during the week.

Friday, 3rd April : Last day of term, Family Friday
