Week commencing 27th June
Well done to all children who performed in the Ministrings concert or competed at Croydon Arena this week. We are really proud of you all!!
Here’s what we will be learning next week:
English- We will be continuing our class text, Lob by Linda Newbery. We will be practicing the use of expanded noun phrases, finishing our narrative writing and then editing and up-leveling, we will read a final section and practice reading and performing with a partner.
Reading- We will be looking at an extract from The Atlas of the Ancient World, learning new vocabulary and applying it in sentences and reading and practicing a section of the text with a partner before focusing on the skill of finding and copying words or information from a text..
We will be beginning to send home reading books on Monday, Wednesday and Friday for those children who have not already chosen them. Reading diaries should be brought to school each day.
Maths- We will be continuing to learn about money, adding subtracting and giving change.
If your child would like to practise their learning at home, there are lots of free games which they can use, including Daily 10 from Topmarks or Hit the Button
