Welcome all in September 2020 and again a humongous well done to all the children for their energy, kindness, curiosity and simply following our School’s 5 Cs.

This week will be one of the last weeks for us to make announcements about lessons using the class-blog as we are gradually moving over to Google-Classroom. On Monday, all children will receive their log-ins and we will begin training the students on how to use it for homework as well. Our aim is to enable the children to use Google-Classroom to complete and submit the majority of their homework.

  • On Tuesday will be our P.E. session which means that children will wear clothes suitable for P.E. throughout the day. To comply with advice and our risk assessment, they will not be able to change between school uniform and P.E. clothes.

While we won’t have assemblies, we will still keep up rewarding the children with merits which will happen in our Year group at the end of our Daily Mile on Fridays.

This week, we will …

  • Explore numbers to 100,000,
  • Compare and order as well as
  • round them and then further expand into
  • numbers to 1,000,000.
  • The counting in 10s, 100s, 1,000s, 10,000s and 100,000s will conclude our week.

  • We will continue to explore the pronunciation rules in Spanish as well as learn basic communication phrases.

  • We will have a first dive into the Solar System and explore the relation (size and distance) of the planets and the Sun.

  • We will secure and expand our Location Knowledge of the British Isles and Europe.

  • We will explore Ancient Greek inventions and chronology.

 

Please know, that we will also introduce from next week, our Guided Reading carousel, Spelling and Handwriting lessons as well as a regular times-tables practice and test.
